I just got the news this morning that my younger cousin Marcus was taken from us last night. I don't know why I still refer to him as my "little" cousin because he is not so little anymore. I immediately started searching my comp for any pics that I had of him... I dont know why, but I did and this is what I found.








I am still in complete shock. Most of my extended family doesnt even know yet. I just cant believe he was taken away from us at such a young age. I love you Marcus and I will never forget you my little cousin.

This young lady was definitely born to be in front of the camera. She is a natural! It was so hard to pick which shots to post because I like all of them. Hats off to the wonderful make-up artist, Celina Scott. She and I went to high school together back in Utah and I didn't know that this is what she does for a living! She is off the hook. I look forward to doing more work with her in the future.

There is usually a story to tell behind each individual or family who decides to take portraits. This is a family who consists of a single mother and her three teenage children. Never quite ready to take a family photo with an important member of their family missing. Today will mark the 15th anniversary since their father has passed away and I had the great privilege to take their first family photos.

When I think of Easter I think of kids with lots of candy, Primary functions at the chapel, chocolate bunnies and yellow marshmallow Peeps. I remember going to Grandma's house meeting all of my other cousins and we would have an Easter egg hunt in the backyard, but we would try to be careful not to fall into the pool (that was 13ft deep). Oh we were on a mission to find those eggs...the plastic eggs that had the $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. It was a lot of fun. As I grew older I realized that Easter really wasn't about bunnies, candy, Easter egg hunts or any of that, but I sure do miss being a kid.
