A new addition to a family, especially a couple's first born is always special, special enough to document. Newborn Baby Matai with his parents, Tommy and Morgan.

Sometimes when you take and post a photo on the world wide web, you never know where it is going to end up. 3 years ago I had a photo session with this adorable little boy and later his photo went viral! It has received thousands of "likes", been re-shared on tumblr, re-posted on different Polynesian facebook pages, re-tweeted, posted on Instagram, you name it. Just recently, I had the privilege of shooting a Holiday Mini Session of Karson and his mommy. He is still cute as ever! Here is flashback photo from our session in 2010...
Here are some of my fav's from our recent photo session.
Baby Brehze, such a beauty. Only 10 days old when these photos were taken. She's the new princess in her circle of siblings and the only girl. By request of the family, something special was brought to use in this shoot. You will see Brehze wearing an ie lavalava which belonged to her great great grandmother, Ufiufi Saleapaga. That makes for 5 generations. How special is that?! I was told that this was an ie that Grandma Ufiufi was never without and I could tell that it was something of such sentimental value to the family. That day I was reminded that sometimes when loved ones pass on, we hold on to things that remind us of them... like this special ie and also like photographs. Thank you Ben & Kelly for allowing me to capture your new precious bundle of joy!
There were 2 brothers + 4 brothers who consisted of a set of twins. It was a great first shoot for the new year. I would have to say my highlight of the entire session was when one of the boys was imitating a Polynesian rock star also known as Felise Mikaele!! lol. It was too cute!!
Thank you to the Talanoa Family for a great time and for an awesome photo session! Cheers to 2012 :)
I have been anxiously waiting to do a photo session in Venice Beach and I finally had the opportunity a few weeks ago with the Hannemann Kids (Khloe & Baby Zealand). An eclectic location along with two spunky yet adorable kids was the perfect combination for some fun photos. I would definitely go back to do another photo session there. Here are some photos from that day.
