Graduation season will be quickly approaching, so you'll definitely start seeing photos from our Senior sessions. Here is the first for 2011!! Lauren Pe'a, who will be graduating from Bolsa Grande High School. She is an awesome athlete & has such a great head on her shoulders. I know her personally & have no doubt that she has an awesome future ahead of her. Not only that, I graduated from the same school :) Matadors in the house!! haha. Back in June of last year (courtesy of Poly Projects), I had the chance of doing a photo shoot with Misi Faamausili. Although he had recent photos taken already, he insisted on doing another photo shoot with his oldest grandson, Kymani for the release of his upcoming album. When I was approached by Misi I thought to myself, "Wow, I'd feel so priveleged to do a photo shoot with my Grandpa for such a special occasion". During the shoot the loving bond that Kymani had with his Grandfather was obvious. I was glad to be able to get it on camera. Here are a few photos from the session. A little over a year ago when I started doing photography, I had no idea what I wanted to specialize in. Without knowing the direction I was going, I just started to take pics of everything!! From newborns, expecting mothers, family events, weddings, engagements, corporate events, high school seniors, children, families, birthday parties, baby showers, etc. You name it, I was shooting it. It wasn't until recently when I discovered what I really enjoy shooting. Being inspired by a song, my environment or something that I saw on TV then creating a concept, scouring for props, connecting with hair stylists and make-up artists, making sure the wardrobe and the location was just right. These conceptual type of images is what I like creating. It felt like a lot more planning and a lot more work, but that's just me. I enjoy organizing. I wanted to give this work that I'm doing its own identity. It wasnt easy to put a name to it, so I reached out and welcomed ideas and suggestions.
